An excursion to Schräding

Yesterday a friend of mine asked me if I would like to follow with to Austria. That still sounds strange in my ears, because for me Autria away was quite far away. But now I live in the South of Bavaria and Austria is just half an hour drive away.

However, it was a super sunny day, we had something around 21 degrees, and I had no lectures, so I joined her. She dropped me off in Schräding, where I had two and a half hours on my own, while she went to an appointment.

The first glance at the village was already amazing. We crossed the river Inn and looked at the pastel colourd facades which were shimmering in the golden sunlight. I toke a walk along the Inn and through the small streets of the village. The entire time I had the feeling I was in Italy. The architecture, the colours, the weather, everything reminded me of Italy, even if I have never been there.

If you are in the area of Passau, do a side trip to this beautifull village. Schräding is worth a visit. And if you have enough time, you can take a boat trip on the Inn and see everythng from a different perspective.

[…] Travel wise, I didn’t see that much. I went to Passau and Schräding. Both cities are worth a visit. Schräding with its narrow streets, colorful buildings and cozy niches, and Passau with its huge cathedral filled with all its splendor, the three rivers that become one and it’s lovely small shops and restaurants. I really enjoyed both cities and would recommend everyone who is in the south-east of Germany or north-west of Austria to include them into your route. If you want to read more about my trip to Schräding click here.
